Ace Broadcaster Oluwatoyin  Salami Bags Ph.D

Ace broadcaster, Alhaja Oluwatoyin Shakirat Salami, has successfully defended her thesis at the Lagos State University (LASU) for the award of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Communication and Media Studies.

Salami who heads the Abeokuta Production office for Newage Network Limited, defended her thesis titled; “Media Access and Information Source Preference among Rural Rice Farmers in Southwest Nigeria,’ before a board of renowned Professors and scholars of communications at the School of post-graduate studies of LASU.

They include Professor Lai Oso of LASU Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Professor Tejumaye from University of Lagos, Professor Rotimi Williams from LASU Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, among others.

Before her new post, the Ibadan, Oyo state-born new scholar was head of unit (HoU), programme, and Group Head, Programme Services at Newage Network, Ltd., Kaduna.

Born in 1973, Salami had also worked with Desmis Independent Television (DITV), Kaduna where she rose to the position of Manager, News & Current Affairs Department.

She was with the Nigeria Television Authority, Ibadan between the year 1996 and 2001 as Reporter / Assistant News Producer (Freelance).
